Becoming a BABAO Member gives you access to our online members area and mailing list, which provide an excellent forum to discuss issues and ask for or give advice to other members. Members receive a discount on the price of the annual conference and receive information on forthcoming conferences and events. BABAO Members also receive a discounted subscription rate to the International Journal of Osteoarchaeology.
BABAO membership runs from January to January. Full rate membership is £27.50 per year and concessionary rate membership (student, retired, unwaged) is £17.50 per year.

Why not try BABAO membership for free until Jan 2013? New members get access to members’ only website content, membership discounts and our mailing list. Please note this does not apply to the reactivation of lapsed memberships.
We prefer to receive membership fees via standing order, bank transfer or PayPal (incurs a £1 admin fee to cover charges; you must wait until your application has been confirmed before using this option).
If you have online banking you can contact the membership secretary at membership@babao.org.uk for details on setting up your own standing order/bank transfer; or fill in the form here and return it to the address at the bottom of the page.
We also accept payment by cheque (in £’s sterling only) made payable to BABAO and sent to the address at the bottom of the page; we do NOT accept cash payments of any kind.
Fees are due on 1st January each year. We do not routinely issue invoices or receipts for payments however these can be arranged by contacting the membership secretary at membership@babao.org.uk
Please note: if someone pays fees on your behalf by ANY of the above methods you need to state your name and membership number at time of payment or contact the membership secretary at membership@babao.org.uk before a payment is made.
To join just fill in the membership form and return to the membership secretary, either via e-mail at membership@babao.org.uk or in hard copy to the address at the bottom of the page.
New members who wish to pay via PayPal must download and return the membership form then wait for confirmation of membership BEFORE making a payment.
New student members need to send proof of student status with their application form; we accept photocopies/scans of student cards, acceptance letters or similar. Please DO NOT send originals as we cannot return them.
Publication Discounts
Members can claim their discount to IJO by quoting their membership number at the time of ordering.
Use of the BABAO mailing list
Members should be aware of the guidelines for use of the BABAO mailing list available here. Following these guidelines will keep the mailing list a professional, friendly and productive environment so please keep them in mind when posting to the list.
Current members can update their details by completing the form here. We would like to hear about job and affiliation changes as well as name and address changes as this will help us understand our members’ needs. If you are changing your details to claim the student concessionary rate you must provide proof of student status. We accept photocopies/scans of student cards, acceptance letters or similar. Please DO NOT send originals as we cannot return them.
Please remember if you have recently graduated or returned to studies you may be paying the wrong fees.
Current members do not need to fill in a form when paying their fees, but should quote their membership number when paying online. You can find your membership number on your registration documents or contact the membership secretary at membership@babao.org.uk.
If you wish to end your BABAO subscription at any time please e-mail the membership secretary at membership@babao.org.uk and let us know.
